My Book Review on Cherry Crush

Filed under: Uncategorized on Monday, November 22nd, 2010 by | No Comments

Hey Bloggers,
I have to do a reading assignment so I am writing a book reveiw so here goes

This story is about Cherry  Costello who, along with her father, moves from Glasgow to Somerset to be with his new girlfriend, Charlotte, and her large family. Charlotte has 4 daughters – Honey,Skye, Summer and Coco. They’re all roughly the same age as Cherry, andare likesisiters shes never had. I like all the sisters but I like Honey a little. Shes the only aspect of the book I didn’t really like but she causes lots of trouble for Cherry, but I can see that Honey’s emotional journey was an important part of her family’s lives.

Cherry crush has a great sence of family values, which is what I love most about her. Family is the most important thing after all, and Cassidy effortlessly shows that with her story of change and self-discovery. Of course , Cherry crush wouldn’t be complete  without  a little romance, which comes in the form of  Honey’s boyfriend Shay. He’s sweet, supportive and struggling with family problems of his own. He instantly connects with Cherry, and their friendship develops.

Cassidy covers somany themes here that it’s difficult to mention them all. Loss, truth and acceptance play a huge part in Cherry’s story, but there is so much more waiting for you within these pages. It’s an absolute joy to read, and I think teenagers will love it.!!!!cherry crush

Lab On Legs CSIRO

Hey Bloggers,
Today At school we had a TOTAL NERD, david come to our school from the CSIRO to teach us about Chemistry he was telling us about how cool nerds are and when someone tell you are a nerd say Thank you and he also told us that we were going to conduct experiments. This total nerd told us to get a tray of all different things we had to use for the experiments. We worked in partners my partner for the activities was Honk. We had to do experiments like the  Reactivity of metals which was my favourite our aim for this experiment was to compare the reaction of hydrochloric acid on different metals. Some of these metals are copper, lead, zinc and magnesium. We had to record our results of all of the experiments we did for this specific experiment we recorded the results we had to list the metals in order of increasing bubble production. The order was copper had the least amount of bubbles then lead and then zinc and then magnesium.
I really enjoyed this lesson because I love to experiment with chemicals if I had this oppertunity in high school I’d love it…….I believe that I learnt  heaps today about how chemicals reacting  to a mixture of other things. And hopefully in high school chemistry would be as fun as our lesson today

Book Review On Percy Jackson And The Lightening Thief

Filed under: Uncategorized on Wednesday, October 20th, 2010 by | No Comments

Hey Lღlly is Back ツ

I am writing a book review about Percy Jackson and The Lightening Thief
Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson always thought he was just an ordinary kid. But that was before weird stuff started to happen. Percy is on the most dangerous quest of his life. With the help of a satyr and a daughter of Athena, Percy must journey across the United States to catch a thief who has stolen the original weapon of mass destruction – Zeus’ master bolt. Along the way, he must face a host of mythological enemies determined to stop him. Most of all, he must come to terms with a father he has never known, and an Oracle that has warned him of betrayal by a friend. I rate this a 7 out of ten because it is a really good book I’d reccomend this book to 10-11-12 and 13 year olds because they would get the storyline and not have too much trouble reading it

Thanks for reading till next time Lღlly Out xx

schoolHey it’s L♥Lly again,

Our inquiry task is to create a puppet show of a thirteen year old person that is put in an un-safe situation and how they get out of this situation. We worked in a group of four with MEZ!, Honk, Aphropollo and LOLly.It was about  a girl called Dee who gets teased about having braces and no friends. She tries to make friends with lots of different people  but she just can’t find the right one! She tries to join the popular group but before she can be accepted she has to shoplift.

DREAMING STORIES!!

Filed under: Uncategorized on Wednesday, June 9th, 2010 by | No Comments

Hey its Lolly again,
Task: To present a dreaming story to two junior primary classes.

We were RANDOMILLY placed into groups of 4 to 5 people. My group members were: CG,DM and JC. Eventually we got to choose a dreaming story to present to a junior primary audience on Wednesday the 9Th. (which was today) hopefully my group did well.

Firstly,we assigned all the roles for our group members (I was an actress, music preparer and prop creator). Later we designed our props they had to be very simple. I was getting confused because my group members were doing multiple things. I had enjoyed the task alot because it was fun and enjoyable because I heard different dreaming stories I have not heard before. I learnt how things came to be and rules for living. I would like to do more performances with different students. Thanks Lolly!!!!!!!!!!

One question before I go what is your favourite dreaming story? Bye for NOW.

Rabbit Proof Fence – Reconstructing

Task:View the film ‘Rabbit Proof Fence’ and complete a ‘Five Reflections’ response

My Understanding/Conclusion: I now know that the Australian Government should
have never taken those children away from there families, and community or known as
tribes. But the Australian Government should have made shelter, clothes, and food to
the Aboriginal people. Weather or not the Australian Government tried to see if half-
caste would eventually later in there generation would be white well it might happen.
My conclusion is that I don’t think it was right for them to take the aboriginal children
